Bonjour !Moi.JPG

My name is Cédric Briand and I am excited to be part of the Foreign Language Department at _ School. I am looking forward to be teaching French I and II and can’t wait for the great school year to come.

But first of all, as part of getting to know each other, let me give you a brief introduction about myself:

I am originally from the region of Brittany in the northwestern part of France. I received my Master's Degree in Agriculture in 1998 from l’Institut Polytechnique LaSalle Beauvais in France. As part of my Master's Program, I also studied at Queen’s University of Belfast in Northern Ireland. I then worked for four years in Madison, Wisconsin for a French company. Back in France (Normandy) in 2002, I worked with the organic farmers association of Upper-Normandy and that’s where my interest in education really started to take off. I taught elementary, middle and high school students about organic farming and organic foods. Additionally, as a volunteer I tutored children of diverse backgrounds in French, English, math, history and geography. Since my wife (who is American) and I moved back to the United States in March 2008, I received my teaching license from Virginia’s Community Colleges (VCCS) alternative licensure program – EducateVA- and I have been teaching French to children and young adults.

(from : "Plantes et aliments transgéniques")
